TryHackMe, seriously, you should try it.
TryHackMe

TryHackMe is an awesome learning platform and it is a great choice for people who want to start learning cybersecurity and those who want to enhance their skills. The abundance of free content is another plus, as you can access the majority of the content on the site freely. This opportunity lets you to try the site and to see if you want to go premium (only 10$, students can enjoy a 20% discount). I had the opportunity to use premium for a month thanks to a generous community member’s giveaway on TryHackMe’s official Discord server, and I enjoyed it a lot, as premium lets you finish curated “learning paths”. But you should remember that you don’t need premium in order to enjoy TryHackMe, in fact, there are lots of amazing free rooms on TryHackMe. Don’t forget to check TryHackMe at TryHackMe.com

TryHackMe might be my favorite website. I learned a lot from it, when I started playing around, I could only use basic Linux commands, and now I have some knowledge in a vast amount of cybersecurity related subjects. To give some examples, I learned how to pivot, or how to jump from machine to machine, from a free network on the site, Wreath. I started to understand the Web better and I solved my problems with subjects which troubled me so much, like reverse engineering, all thanks to TryHackMe.

Lately, TryHackMe introduced a new learning path, “Pre-Security”. This curated list of rooms is ideal for people who want to begin their cybersecurity journey but worry about lacking the fundamental knowledge. This path introduces the learners to the basics of networking, explains how the Web works, and teaches them the fundamentals of Windows and Linux.

Pre-Security path has helpful interactive applications that simulate real world scenarios. I think these applications are great for beginners as they can teach the core concepts without the logistics of establishing an SSH connection or using a proxy, concepts TryHackMe introduce later on other rooms. Check the Pre-Security path at TryHackMe.com/path/outline/presecurity

I enjoyed this path and all the other content that I had the opportunity to experience on TryHackMe. I recommend TryHackMe and the Pre-Security path to all cybersecurity beginners and enthusiasts. And for all those stuff I learned from TryHackMe, I thank the great team and the fantastic community of TryHackMe.
